Essaouira
About

Moored at the Atlantic coast, in the south of Morocco, Essaouira gathers all the charms and natural beauties, which combine pleasure and physical comfort. Called also “Mogador” or “Tassort, in local language“, Essaouira attracts the eyes of the whole world and becomes then an ultimate tourist destination, besides the other big neighbor tourist cities: Marrakech and Agadir.

Essaouira is a small town characterized by its calm and strategic location on the Atlantic coast like a small peninsula. It also has a rich heritage of historical monuments dating back more than three centuries.

Its particular weather is also one its attractions. Unlike other neighboring cities, its climate is moderate all the year. Also known as, “Wind City”, Essaouira is a good destination for surf lovers.

Itinerary

1 Day trip

We organize daily trips to Essaouira from Marrakech.
Here are the details:

Departure

Departure from your accommodation at 08:00 am.
The driver picks you up from your hotel or Raid.

Along the way

On the way to Essaouira, you will have the opportunity to make several stops to discover picturesque landscapes and fascinating local traditions.

One of the most surprising moments of your journey will be observing the famous goats perched in argan trees. In search of food, these goats skillfully climb onto the branches, offering a unique and typical spectacle of the region. You will have time to take photos and learn more about this curious habit.

Next, you will visit an argan oil cooperative, where you will discover the traditional extraction process of this precious oil. You can observe local artisans grinding argan nuts by hand and understand the benefits of this oil, used both in cosmetics and cooking. This is also a great opportunity to buy natural products directly from the producers.

Upon arriving in Essaouira, you will be immediately impressed by its imposing 18th-century ramparts. These fortifications, built under the reign of Sultan Mohammed ben Abdellah, surround the medina and offer a breathtaking view of the Atlantic Ocean. You can walk along the ramparts, admire the ancient cannons pointed towards the sea, and enjoy the refreshing sea breeze.

Finally, you will immerse yourself in the lively atmosphere of Essaouira, exploring its vibrant souks, picturesque alleys, and cultural heritage.
